NHS EYE EXAMINATION

Free NHS sight tests are available for:

​

  • Children under the age of 16

​

  • Students 16-18 and in full-time education

​

  • Adults over the age of 60

​

  • Patients diagnosed with diabetes/glaucoma

​

  • Patients over the age of 40 and have a family member diagnosed with glaucoma

Adults who receive the following are also entitled to free NHS sight tests:

​

  • Income Support

​

  • Income based jobseekers Allowance

​

  • Income-related employment and Support Allowance

​

  • Pension Credit guarantee credit

​

  • Tax Credit and are named on a valid NHS Tax Credit Exemption certificate

​

  • Patients who are registered blind/partially sighted

​

  • Patients who have been prescribed complex lenses under the NHS optical voucher scheme

​

  • In addition, you may be entitled to a free NHS optical voucher which can be used towards the expenses of your glasses
